In the visitor centers of the Harz National Park you can get all the important information about the national park. Find out exciting things about the flora, fauna and the special features of the Harz forests - for example, why they look the way they do.

In addition to knowledge, there is something new to discover in every visitor center. Whether exciting exhibitions, interactive stations or special insights into nature - a visit is always worthwhile!

The Brockenhaus

A visit to Northern Germany's highest mountain is not complete without a detour to the Brockenhaus National Park Visitor Center, which is also architecturally striking. A multimedia adventure tour of the fascinating mountain's varied history and special nature awaits Brocken visitors on three floors.

The exhibition and catering are open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Last admission to the exhibition is at 4:30 p.m.

TorfHaus

The TorfHaus National Park Visitor Center is located right next to the large parking lot and the Torfhaus bus stop. A visit is worthwhile whatever the weather and whatever the season. On two floors, you will find an accessible and family-friendly exhibition that provides exciting insights into and views of the Harz National Park and shows how the wilderness is becoming a reality again here. In the shop, you will find a large selection of Harz and nature books, hiking maps, souvenirs and much more.

The TorfHaus National Park Visitor Center is a popular starting point for numerous hiking and adventure tours, such as the popular Goetheweg to the Brocken or the Moorstieg over the Große Torfhausmoor.

HohneHof Nature Adventure Center

The barrier-free HohneHof nature experience center and the dandelion discovery trail offer a variety of opportunities to discover and enjoy nature. The HohneHof is an ideal starting point for hikes, family outings or mountain bike tours in the Harz.

Our café invites you to relax in a cozy atmosphere while children explore the grounds, the adventure playground or the research corner. Our rangers are happy to provide information about events, hands-on activities and hiking tours around the HohneHof.

Schierke National Park House

The Schierke National Park House, located directly on the Brocken Road, with its adjoining ranger station, is an important starting point for those exploring the Brocken. A small permanent exhibition provides information about the forest's transformation into wilderness in the Harz National Park and explains the developments along the ascent routes to the Brocken summit. Current weather information directly from the Brocken summit and a view of the Harz wilderness of time set the tone for tours through the legendary mountain wilderness.

Scharfenstein Ranger Station

The Scharfenstein ranger station is located in the heart of the national park below the Scharfenstein cliff. At the self-service snack bar you can fortify yourself for the rest of your hike and receive information and tips from our rangers about trails, the weather and the legendary mountain wilderness in the Harz National Park.

Sankt Andreasberg National Park House

The Sankt Andreasberg National Park House is located in the immediate vicinity of the current visitor mine Grube Samson and the spa park. In the barrier-free interactive exhibition and the adventure cinema, you can go on an exciting journey through time through the natural and cultural landscape of the Harz. In the new "Bat Kingdom" you can follow the flying mammals into the night and discover the secrets of the little hunters.

Ilsetal National Park House

After a visit, you will be well equipped for your forays through the national park forests around Ilsenburg and the wild and romantic Ilsetal. For example, immerse yourself in the underwater world of the Ilse in the cinema room and enjoy various films about the wild nature of the Harz National Park or find out about interesting destinations from the ranger and at the information point.
